Panasonic เปิดตัวเลนส์ตระกูล X Series ที่ปรับปรุงคุณภาพของเลนส์ และทำขนาดให้เล็กลง สำหรับกล้อง m4/3 ที่เน้นการถ่ายวิดีโอ โดยเป็นเลนส์ซูมที่มีขนาดเล็ก ประมาณเลนส์แพนเค้กเลยทีเดียว เปิดตัวออกมาสองช่วงซูมคือ Panasonic 14-42mm X Lens และ Panasonic 45-175mm X Lens อีกสิ่งที่น่าสนใจคือ หลังๆ มีคนนิยมนำกล้อง DSLR หรือใกล้เคียงอย่าง m4/3 มาถ่ายวิดีโอกันมากขึ้น เพราะให้ภาพที่สวยกว่า แต่ก็ติดตรงการซูมเข้าออกที่ต้องใช้มือหมุน ดูไม่ลื่นไหลเหมือนเลนส์กล้องถ่ายวิดีโอ เลนส์ใหม่ X Series ที่มาพร้อมกับซูมกดปุ่ม electric-powered zoom ช่วยแก้ปัญหานี้ได้ โดยมีคุณสมบัติดังนี้

Panasonic 14-42mm X Lens

- It has 9 lenses (including four aspherical lenses and two ED lenses)

. Minimum focusing distance wide open is 20cm. On the tele end it is 30cm.
